This year has been a bonanza BBQ year for Vectis Sunrise rotary club members.  We began on 15 May, providing a BBQ, teas and coffees at Carisbrooke Castle for Walk the Wight.  It was lovely weather and we were very busy all day long.

The following week we had contrasting weather for our Riverfest BBQ,  but we still had a good day.  We followed that with a BBQ at Barton Manor for Challenge and Adventure.  On Father’s Day a group took a static bike, collection tins and a lot of enthusiasm to “Cycle round the island” in aid of Prostate Cancer.  Then came a highly successful County Show, the inaugural horse show at Sunnyside Farm and an evening BBQ for the TVR club.

And there’s still more to come:

*  Sunday 24 July:   BBQ at Barton Manor for Earl Mountbatten Hospice

*  Friday 12 – Sunday 14 August:  Visit to the Island of Eve Conway, RIBI President

*  Sunday 14 August:  Rotary Fun Day at the County Show Ground *. Saturday 20 August:  Sporting Bears BBQ

*  Sunday 18 September:  Pétanque competition in Lymington

So, there’s lots going on, and it’s true to say that we enjoy what we do, we enjoy working as a team, and we enjoy working with and supporting the community.
